Itinerary of the Best Sacred Valley ATV Tour Maras and Moray

We leave Cusco in our private transport towards the northwest to the town of Maras, where our top-class base (Casa Osqollo) is located. Here, we will take our safety equipment and ATVs (quads) to start our practice session, in which the passengers learn to drive the ATV in a safe and responsible manner. Then, we start our adventure heading to the beautiful viewpoint of Huaypo lagoon, where the landscapes and peace of the environment will get you in sync with nature and the rural lifestyle of the surrounding towns.

Next, we continue to visit the archaeological complex of Moray, an ancient laboratory used for agricultural purposes, a majestic place that shows the understanding and bond these cultures had with Pachamama (Mother Nature). This unique site offers a deep insight into the innovative agricultural techniques of the Incas, which remain a subject of wonder and study.

After that, we visit the church of Tiobamba, an architectural beauty oddly located in a remote location, and take another route back to the starting point where our private transport will be waiting for bring us to the salt mines and then to Cusco

After this, we take the trail to the salt mines of Maras, where we will observe the amazing amount of ponds set up during the Inca Empire time and where the famous pink salt is produced, all through off-road paths with beautiful views of the sacred Apus (snowy mountains that surround the Sacred Valley). The view of the salt ponds is truly spectacular, and provides a unique opportunity to understand the importance of salt in the Andean economy and culture.
