Rental conditions

If you have the Peruvian nationality you will need a motorcycle driving license. If you are a foreigner, you need a motor driving license from your home country. Next to that we strongly recommend that you bring an international driving license. The road conditions, traffic conditions and weather conditions in Peru are likely to be different then in your home country. Therefore, good motor driving skills are recommended.

If you rent a motorcycle with us, the standard insurance which is included in the rental price is the so called SOAT. This is the minimum insurance obligated by Peruvian law and it covers physical injuries to the driver, passenger and third people.

Damage to the motorcycle is not covered. It is possible to take an additional insurance. In this case 70% of the cost on damage to the motorcycle is covered by the insurance and 30% is for your own expense. In case the damage is less than 300 USD, all cost is for your own expense. Damage to third parties is not covered.

We have two types of these additional insurances: One for trips from 1 day until 4 days, which cost 20 USD per day. And one for trips of 5 days and longer which start from 400 USD.

We recommend, especially for longer tours, that you take insurance with international cover in your home country, so you are well insured.

Depending on the type of motorcycle, quad or car you rent you will have to pay a deposit. This can be done with a pre-authorization on your VISA card. The amount of the deposit will be blocked on your VISA card. On return of your trip this amount will be unblocked again. An alternative is to pay the deposit with cash.
