Information for Motorcycle Rental in Lima Peru

Do I require an international driver’s license for motorcycle rentals in Peru?

If you intend to drive in Peru for a duration of 30 days or less, a valid foreign driver’s license suffices for renting motorcycles, cars, or scooters. However, it’s imperative to carry your passport at all times to prove your legal entry into Peru.

For stays exceeding 30 days, obtaining an international driver’s permit is necessary. It’s advisable to apply for this permit at least two weeks prior to your trip to Peru, considering the typical mailing duration. Applications can be submitted here.

It’s noteworthy that only the Touring and Automóvil Club del Perú is authorized to issue International Driving Permits in adherence to prevailing international agreements. Additionally, it’s important to understand that the permit’s maximum validity is one year, and it’s strictly non-transferable and issued solely to the applicant. For further details, please refer to the Touring and Automóvil Club del Perú website.

Cost of the procedure

  • Issuance fees for Touring Annual Integral Plan members: S/.115.00 soles inclusive of VAT (for those with one year of membership and an up-to-date or canceled subscription).
  • Issuance fees for non-members: S/. 270.00 soles inclusive of VAT.
